Publication date: 14 Mar 2008

Diamedica (UK) Limited attended the 14th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists in Cape Town, South Africa which ran from 2nd to 7th March 2008. "This is an major event on the calendar of any anaesthesiologists," said Dr Eltringham, Consultant Anaesthetist at Royal Gloucester. "I was invited to chair a two hour session on the Glostavent® and it is marvellous to see just how well it is now recognised and valued. It is, of course, occupying a niche market: anaesthetic equipment which is suitable for those who have to work in less than ideal circumstances, the very thing for which it was originally invented."

"We consider it essential to attend exhibitions such as this," said Jan Laursen, Export Director. "Yes, there is an enormous amount of work involved in it but the opportunity to be part of the anaesthetic community is invaluable. It is not simply a question of putting your wares on display but the chance to share experiences, ask questions and learn from what the end user has to say to you. Nobody can afford to rest on their laurels and we have the opportunity to constantly move forward and innovate if we listen to what is wanted out in the field."

Robert Neighbour, Diamedica's Managing Director, said he was extremely impressed by how well the Congress had been run. "They did a fantastic job," he said. "Everything ran as smoothly as clockwork for us and we very much look forward to being part of the Congress in 2012."
