NEWS: RAISE Conference, Kampala, UgandaPublication date: 2 Jul 2008Having supplied anaesthesia and engineering training for Marie Stopes International, Richard Tully, development engineer for the Glostavent, was delighted to be invited to attend the RAISE Conference, held in Kampala from June 18th to 20th. RAISE (Reproductive Health Access, Information & Services in Emergencies) is a joint initiative of Columbia Universitys Mailman School of Public Health and Marie Stopes International and brought over 400 delegates from across the world to discuss the reproductive health of women, men and young people in areas of conflict and natural disaster.
"This was a wonderful invitation to receive," said Richard. "Its not every day you get invited to participate in such specialised conferences and I was honoured to be invited. " "I thoroughly enjoyed myself," said Richard. "The conference was held at the Speke Resort, Munyonyo which was a wonderful setting. It was short and intensive, and everybody worked incredibly hard, but it was a pleasure to attend and catch up with old friends and make new ones."
