Diamedica Supports Anaesthesia Care in Mongolia

June 12th, 2025

Diamedica’s Robert Neighbour visited Mongolia to participate in the Mongolian Society of Anaesthetists Annual Scientific Meeting, held in Ulaanbaatar. The event, a key gathering for anaesthesia professionals, provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, international collaboration, and continued professional development.

During his visit, Robert toured two of the country’s leading hospitals; the Mongolia-Japan Hospital (MJH) and the Third State Central Hospital and presented a hands-on workshop on draw-over anaesthesia at the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences. The session featured the Diamedica Portable Anaesthesia (DPA) system, a lightweight, robust solution designed for use in low-resource or challenging environments where conventional anaesthesia systems may not be feasible.

The DPA offers several key benefits, including:

  • No reliance on electricity or compressed gases, making it ideal for rural or emergency settings.

  • Ease of use and maintenance, ensuring operability even by clinicians with limited anaesthesia training.

  • Portability, allowing it to be deployed quickly in field hospitals, remote clinics, or disaster zones.

Attendees benefited from the chance to engage with leading specialists, covering key topics in anaesthesia and more. Diamedica’s ongoing work in Mongolia reflects a growing global commitment to equitable healthcare and the role of appropriate technology in achieving that goal.
