Supporting Anaesthesia Education in Resource-Limited Settings

May 26th, 2026

The course brought together a diverse group of anaesthesia practitioners from across Europe and Africa, creating a valuable forum for sharing experiences and best practices in low-resource healthcare settings. Delegates included both experienced clinicians and those preparing for their first missions.

The Glostavent and DPA anaesthesia machines were displayed allowing delegates to explore the equipment and discuss its use during breaks and networking sessions. A dedicated two-hour presentation from Robert and live demonstration on the third day generated strong engagement and many insightful questions.

Positive feedback was received on the reliability and effectiveness of the equipment in the field, reinforcing its value in supporting safe anaesthesia delivery in challenging environments.

The course highlighted the importance of collaboration, education, and practical innovation in improving anaesthesia care where resources are limited, and we look forward to supporting similar initiatives in the future.
